TEGAL
Corporate / Manufacturing Headquarters

Tegal's, a Motorola New Enterprises, $14 million, 120,000 square foot facility was completed January 1988, sixteen months after signing the build-to-lease.

Programming, Site Selection, Developer Selection, Lease Negotiation, Interior Design, Construction and Interior Fitout Management were the responsibility of the Motorola Project Manager.

This facility consolidated Tegal's Semi-Conductor Equipment design and manufacturing operations which where located in thirteen (13) leased buildings, and relocated them from Novato to Petaluma. The facility was engineered around the manufacturing process and provided upgraded cleanroom assembly, state-of-the-art process gas and hazardous material management, and allowed for flexible manufacturing systems, while reducing gross operating cost.

The 7.1 acre site in the Oakmead Northbay Business Park was master planned for the 120,000 square foot building multiple tenants, allowing for phasing growth and a maximum site employment of 500 employees.

The interior office system by Herman Miller was upgraded from the existing AO to ENCORE through one of the first "panel system trade-in". This minimized the move disruption as well as cost.

Project was completed on schedule and within budget ... achieved the goal of "A NO COST MOVE".
